Community Center in Camarillo
Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids is open to ages 7-17*
Rehearsals: July 20 – August 14
Performances: August 15
at the Camarillo Community Center Auditorium
All students who enroll in the Youth Theatre Workshop will be cast. Auditions/evaluations to place actors into specific roles will take place during the first 2-3 days of the workshop.
*Teens who are interested in artistic or technical roles with this production may instead join our Theatre Leadership for Teens workshop. Please email us at info@fableforgeplayers.com to set up an interview.
General Workshop Requirements:
Students should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in and bring/wear jazz shoes, character shoes, sneakers, or other closed-toed shoes that remain securely attached to their feet when dancing.
Please make sure students bring a water bottle and pencil each day.
Cell phones/watches must be placed in silent mode and put away in the student’s bag or backpack. Students should have a book, sketchpad, or something else quiet to do for the times when they are not in the scene that is currently being rehearsed.
Important Information:
- Cost for the Youth Theatre Workshop is a $205 enrollment fee with PVRPD, plus a separate materials fee of $80 paid directly to Fable Forge Productions.
- The materials fee and a signed acting contract must be received before the start of the first class. Students will not be allowed to participate until these items have been submitted.
- Students will provide their own neutral-colored base-layer (top and pants/leggings/shorts plus black or tan shoes) for their costume. Specialty costume pieces will be provided by Fable Forge.
- Song and dance selections for the evaluation auditions will be taught the first day of class. Placement into specific roles will be done after the second or third day of class.
- Rehearsals Weeks 1-3: July 20 – August 7
Monday – Friday, 2 – 4 pm (July 24 will potentially be 3 – 5 pm instead.)
Students only need to attend when their specific scenes are being rehearsed; a weekly call sheet will be provided after casting is complete. (Students MAY stay for all rehearsals, even when they aren’t called, provided they are supportive and not disruptive.) - Rehearsals Week 4: Tech Week, August 10 – 14
Monday – Thursday: 1-4 pm
Friday: 3:30-7 pm.
Students must attend all tech rehearsals - Performances on August 15 at 2 pm and 4:30 pm: Call time at Noon.
Participants must be available for both performances.
